Labor of Love

Yesterday was the Labor Day Parade in NYC. My local marched, but as usual, there were more marchers than spectators. NYC used to be a Labor town, and I guess comparatively it still is. The Labor Movement in this country, on the decline for decades, has its work cut out for it.

The recent call for a $15 minimum wage and the resistance to it is a clear example of the need for strong unions. Corporate America, with greed pulsing through its unpatriotic veins will never provide middle class wages or benefits without a strong union presence to advocate for workers.

It would be nice if the Presidential candidates besides Bernie Sanders would get specific about their labor policies.

Best not to hold your breath.
