Droughts, Floods and Food - NYTimes.com

The truth is annoyingly messy. There are no Glenn Beck-esque simple explanations for what is going on in the world. The causes and prospects for inflation require some intelligence to understand. Nobel laureate Paul Krugman has explained for his readers what is actually going on in our economy and in its relation to the world economy. The rise of China, the impact of financial meltdown, the misguided economic policies that date back to the Reagan era, and the interplay of these and other factors that have resulted in where we find ourselves today.

Reject the naysaying of the radical Conservative siren call for tax cuts and unwinding the social safety net. Call these policies and their proponents what they are. They are unpatriotic and un-American. The "conservative" values espoused today are false, and serve only to enrich the wealthy at the expense of the middle class.
