In Other News...

A few days ago, there was a little electrical fire at Indian Point Energy Center. That's the warm and fuzzy name of the nuclear reactors that produce electricity situated mere miles north of New York City.

One reactor was knocked off line, but the word was that there was no need to panic, nothing very dangerous, just a small malfunction in a transformer and one of the nuclear reactors so very close to New York City was shut down.

The map above shows the impossibility of any real chance of evacuating the tri-state area should there be a melt down at Indian Point.

What might cause such a meltdown? Oh, I don't know. Maybe a transformer fire that wasn't brought under control soon enough.
