The Democrats do themselves no favor by not being honest about Social Security. With the radical Conservative/Republicans wanting to trash the entire system, it falls to the Democrats to be honest and work to fix the system. That means raising Social Security assessments on the wealthy. That is one of the simplest and fairest things that can and should be done immediately.
