Muslim Publics Divided on Hamas and Hezbollah | Pew Global Attitudes Project

Muslim Publics Divided on Hamas and Hezbollah | Pew Global Attitudes Project

Muslims like to have religion in public life. I don't agree with it. I think there is no place for it. I also think there is no place for Christianity in U.S. public life. I think there is no place for it. In the USA, we have had constitutional protections and safeguards to prevent the overtaking of public life with the religion of the majority, that have had some successes. What is needed in the middle east and Egypt, are the same sort of constitutional protections, the rule of secular law, that will help them to build a strong politically mature democracy.

No religion, be it Islam, Judaism, or Christianity lends itself to the healthy promulgation of democracy.
