Fred Siegel: How Public Unions Took Taxpayers Hostage - WSJ.com

Yet another anti-union screed that looks back at history with partisan selectiveness.

Why is it that the "by the rules" , "pro property rights", and "big business" advocates have such a hard time with the notion of governments being held to contracts that provide pensions for it's workers? Why is every golden parachute awarded by every tax avoiding corporation defended tooth and nail while union membership, comprised of all ethnic and economic groups are attacked for expecting to receive negotiated pensions at the end of their working lives? These arguments hold no water and must be seen for what they are. Racist for the most part, and class antagonistic as well. Advocating against the powerless is ugly, and un-American.
